Only two minutes, Lin Dan to the second round



Lin Dan gained a walkover after Tommy Sugiarto injured in action Maybank Malaysian Open Badminton Championships 2015, today.


Five-time World Champion, Lin Dan takes only two minutes to advance to the second round of Malaysia Open Super Series 2015 at Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur today.

Save China's opening title campaign inaugural Malaysian Open with easy victory after his opponent Tommy Sugiarto of Indonesia was forced to withdraw due to injury pain behind her back.

Tommy, who suffered the injury at the Indian Open, last week, when it trailed 2-0 in the first set.

"Many fans want to see me play with Lee Chong Wei but unfortunately he is now suspended. But I hope to get the support of the fans in Malaysia and will play in the best possible here," said Lin Dan.

The 31-year-old player was last in action at the Malaysian Open on the 2012 edition but lost to Denmark, Jan O Jorgensen, in the second round.

In the second round tomorrow, Lin Dan will face HSPrannoy, after 22 years-old Indonesian players that beat Ireland, Scott Evans 22-20 and 21-18 in the first round.

Meanwhile, Tommy said he decided to withdraw from continuing the game as no longer able to bear the pain in the waist.

He said the injuries suffered when India Open semi-finals last week returned to haunt him once a match against Lin Dan began.

"I felt I was not able to play perfectly in this game. To move forward also not able to mention want fast in the ring," he said, somewhat disappointed not to be able to continue the match with China's champion.

He will return to Indonesia to get treatment before deciding whether to participate in the Singapore Open or had forgotten the first tournament for treatment and rest.

"I want to recover quickly," he said.
