A diver who was surprised to find the ocean floor menyelamke prehistoric forest, which was estimated to be 10,000 years under the North Sea. And experts believe that, if the forest can be stretched as far as Europe.
Diver Dawn Watson, looking for unusual items, which he termed 'forest lost' when he dived just as deep as 300 meters in coastal areas Cley, Norfolk. He is looking for oak trees, complete with branches measuring eight meters under the sea.
Experts believe that, the forest has been 'hidden' off the coast of Norfolk since the Ice Age. Large tracts of forest is believed to be revealed, after a winter storm hit the area this winter last year.
Watson is currently conducting a research project Marine Conservation Society, Seasearch in East Anglia with his partner Rob Spray, said he was "absolutely delighted" with the findings.
"I can not believe what I was seeing at first. The sea was quite spacious with a beach, so I decided to dive a little further and after swimming more than 300 meters, I searched long ridge blackened," said Watson.
At first he did not realize, if bruising is wood.
"When I looked closer, I realized it when I dip timber and further I started looking around the trunk of the tree with branches at the top, which looks like a cut," he added.
Watson himself was diving in the North Sea for about 16 years, and he said these trees are estimated to have formed part of a very large forest, which has thousands of acres wide.
But it is believed, this forest sink when the ice melted and sea level rose 120 meters.
Now fallen trees fallen on the ground, where they formed a natural sponge, which works closely with colorful fish, plants and wildlife.
Pair of divers is now hoping that the carbon test to be performed on the trees, can determine exactly how long the forest was there.
