Taxi drivers protest turns chaotic

KUALA LUMPUR: A meeting of about 70 taxi drivers around the Klang Valley with MyTeksi today turned into a scene.

It is due to the combination is not allowed in the headquarters MyTeksi to participate in a meeting said to have been arranged between MyTeksi and this combination.

The first meeting is to get a reaction MyTeksi Memorandum regarding application GrabCar, owned MyTeksi on 29 June.

According to representatives of the coalition, Kamarudin Mohd Hussain, he said, they claimed they MyTeksi have mekhianati by providing GrabCar operation, which is deemed to affect their rice bowl.

"MyTeksi very disappointing us when they slashed our present today as invaders, while the real intruder is MyTeksi creating GrabCar and trespassing on our property search," he told reporters today in front of the headquarters MyTeksi in Section 13 here.

According Kamarudin again, if no further action from any party liable in respect of services GrabCar objections, the parties they may take action that is more aggressive than ever before.

"We have invented a Memorandum submission, peaceful assembly, respect the laws existing but so far neither party who appeared to save our rice bowl.

"So it is not impossible if the problem continues, the fire that burns in the hearts of the taxi drivers will continue to smolder and burn and explode, and this will be possible after the occurrence of more aggressive action."

Meanwhile, at about 11.20 am, Manager Division Steering MyTeksi Dylan Wong was out of their headquarters to read their statement in this regard.

"We feel it is time for the authorities to conduct a progressive discussion on this subject.

"Together with the taxi driver, we asked the Ministry of Transport and Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) to review existing legislation on driving and taxi-sharing applications," Wong told reporters.

Taxi drivers protest ended peacefully at about 11:50 am.
