Johor Bahru - The opening ceremony of Admiral Masjid Tunku Abdul Jalil at Police Headquarters State on Friday not only made history as the first declaration Friday prayers.
In fact, the event was officiated by the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar big headlines when he said that the name of the area back to the Kulai Kulai.
Changes to return to the original name was directed Sultan of Johor and is effective immediately although he later gazetted on 29 March 2007; to solve the capital of the northern region, Johor Bahru.
In fact, he said, though there are some places in the country names might sound a bit strange, but it still is the name that was given by our ancestors since time immemorial.
Simultaneously with the opening ceremony, Sultan Ibrahim also called on the government to reconsider find another name for the new administrative center of Johor, which is now named as Nusajaya.
According to him, the name Nusajaya not reflect the history and background of the place located in a special area of the Iskandar Development Region project covering 9,600 hectares and was inaugurated in 2007.
Johor Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who was present at the event was reported not to give any further comment, he took note of the briefing by his majesty the king.
Also present at the opening of the mosque is Tunku Mahkota Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and Tunku Temenggong Johor, Tunku Idris Iskandar Ismail Abdul Rahman, son of Sultan Ibrahim.
Also present were Deputy Minister, Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed; State Secretary of Johor, Datuk Ismail Karim; Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar and Johor police chief Datuk Ahmad Rusli.
