5 Figure boar caught in MMU Library



Cyberjaya:  A male wild boar lost and trapped about two hours in the library Malaysia Multimedia University (MMU) here Monday.

In the incident at 1.30pm, wild boar is believed crashed into a glass wall panel on the rear door and trapped MMU library.

Cyberjaya Fire and Rescue Team arrived about 10 minutes later vacate the library to catch the animal.

The boar caught fire brigades and carried out of the building about two hours later.

In a statement, Chief Librarian MMU Sujak Kamal said the incident was shocking, but with the cooperation of all parties, including fire brigades, Wildlife and Safety Department MMU, the situation was brought under control.

"Wild animals are likely to stray from the nearby forests due to rapid development around Cyberjaya," he said.





Kamal said part of the main library had to be closed due to disorders caused by attempts to catch the animal but the main reading room 24 hours remain open as usual.

He stressed that the situation is safe and cleanup is underway.

"We will inform the student when the main part will be reopened in the near future," he said.

Accordingly, Kamal said MMU to thank all those who helped.

Previously, images of animals that seem to get lost in the library become viral on social networking sites.
