Hundreds of McDonald's outlets in three countries closed


20 restaurants have closed in the United States and China, while in Japan involved 130 branches.

KUALA LUMPUR: Hundreds of branches of McDonald's fast food restaurant in Japan, China and the United States face a possible shutdown.

This is due to the fall in profits recorded by the company in the three countries.

McDonald's CEO, Steve Easterbrook, newly appointed to the post last month, told the improvement of information and a more detailed strategy will be shared with the public this May 4th.

Fortune.com international news portal reports mention 350 restaurants were closed in the three countries, and bringing the total to 700 branches closed this year.

On Wednesday, McDonald's announced a revenue decline of 11 percent, while the company's profit decreased by 30 percent for the first three months.

This year, McDonald's USA has implemented a number of changes including roast chicken recipe simplified and control the use of antibiotics on chicken.

At the same time, workers' wages have also increased on continued demand union, in addition to adding other benefits for employees such as vacation.
