1MDB: Vibo agreed but with conditional call Najib

Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Tun Hussein today would agree with the call by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who asked any member of the Cabinet to resign if no shared restore 1MDB.

KUALA LUMPUR: Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Tun Hussein today would agree with the call by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who asked any member of the Cabinet who were with him in the recovery 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) to resign.

Vibo however in a tweet in response to Astro AWANI Twitter account today said the agreement to call for the resignation of Cabinet members is conditional.

Among the conditions he is an investment company owned by the Ministry of Finance should be rationalized and there needs to be accountability if there is any wrongdoing.

In addition, he also said there should be transparency and accountability in the process of rationalizing the company 1MDB.

Before in a local newspaper reported Najib ask any member of the Cabinet who were with him on the issue of 1MDB to resign.

According to the newspaper, Najib's announcement was made during a meeting of the Cabinet on Friday after the Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah finished presenting the roadmap 1MDB to all members of the Cabinet.

In the presentation, Husni told the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) will allocate US $ 1 billion (RM3.66 billion) to 1MDB for debts amounting to US $ 975 million (RM3.57 billion) to international bank lending syndicate.

According to him, 1MDB entered into a binding agreement with IPIC and its subsidiaries, in which IPIC Aabar Investments will pay to 1MDB on or before June 4, 2015.

Earlier, veteran UMNO members, Tengku Razaleigh last week also considers all members of the Cabinet should take responsibility in dealing with the issue of 1MDB and not let Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak face it alone.
