92-year-old woman managed to end the marathon

SAN DIEGO - UNITED STATES. Age is not a barrier to a senior citizen who is 92 years old cancer sufferer managed to break the record to become the oldest woman who successfully complete the marathon yesterday.

Harriette Thompson of North Carolina, takes 7 hours, 24 minutes, 36 seconds to finish the marathon on the run Sunday's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in San Dieogo.

Harriette admit this is the most difficult run during the 16 participation in such events.

"Though the run accompanied harder every year, but this year is the most difficult and challenging, not to mention just lost her husband last January and also suffered an infection in the leg,"

"I can not practice well as spending lots of time taking care of a sick husband at the time," he was quoted by AP.

Prior to this, Gladys Burrill, 92 years 19 days, a record by becoming the oldest woman to finish the marathon in 2010.

Harriette overcame a record held previously by spending running at the age of 92 years, that is 65 days older than previous record holder.
