ORGANIZATIONS Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday called on all parties to cease the use of hospital management of one of the following devices can be hacked.
Hospira Symbiq Infusion system can be hacked by third parties as well as allow them to control the amount of medication that will be accepted by patients.
According to the FDA, external users can access through the Internet network Symbig hospital. The same thing was also stated in the official site of the Department of Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response and Homeland Security (ICS-CERT).
External control, could result in critically ill patients who are receiving therapy drugs overdose.
The department found fault Symbig system on 21 July followed by the FDA issued a warning on Friday, July 31.
However no hack incident reported so far.
