Children 8 years old drowned in the river bed

KUALA LUMPUR - A child of eight years old girl drowned after slipping into a river near Damansara Damai, here, today.

In the incident about 6 pm, the victim called Nor Fatin Atikah, before playing with his friends on the banks of the river.

Operations Officer Fire and Rescue Station Sungai Buloh, Unip Kadir said the department received an emergency call at about 6:18 this afternoon.

"A total of eight members including an officer of the Fire and Rescue Unit Sungai Buloh and Rescue Team On Air (PPDA) Shah Alam arrived at the scene about 10 minutes later.

"The victim was found in the river bed at about 6:46 this afternoon," he said when contacted by Bernama.

The victim was taken to the Intensive Care Unit of Hospital Sungai Buloh confirmed to have died.
