Jayapura: Five students pleaded guilty in Juvenile Court Jayapura on Thursday on charges of rioting that left one of their colleagues were injured.
Another was accused, was not present at the proceedings.
All the accused are aged 13 to 15 years, were charged in a group and cause injury to Noor Azhar Saad, 11, between 1 pm on May 31 and 2 pm June 1 at the hostel for orphans, Kompleks Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Lovers, Meru, near here.
Some teens were charged under Section 147 of the Penal Code which carries a sentence of up to two years or a fine or both if convicted.
Speaking to reporters Syazwani DPP Mohamad Ibrahim Sabri said Magistrate Norhayati assign each RM500 bail with one surety and fixed December 24 for sentencing.
Syazwani said another accused who do not attend will be charged later.
Some teens are not represented by counsel while counsel Razairul Hafiz Md Razib a watching brief.
Bullying of Noor Azhar recorded and uploaded in Facebook and social media recently that gets public sympathy for mangsa.
