GST: The first premise is alleged to be

SHAH ALAM - A restaurant became the first premise Sessions Court here today on five counts related to offenses under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in 2014.

Hameeds Corner restaurant which represented the owner, Raja Punesh over-page Kamarudeen as registered persons pleaded not guilty to produce 2,000 tax invoice does not contain the particulars prescribed under Section 22 of the Regulations GST.

Punesh as the king summoned (OKS) was charged with committing the offense at the premises in Section 16, Shah Alam on 7 to 11 April.

The prosecution was conducted in accordance with Section 33 (2) (b) Goods and Services Tax Act 2014 (Act 762) which is punishable by a fine of up to RM30,000 or jailed up to two years or both.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Raja Raja Mohan suggests Rozela RM100,000 bail but was denied a lawyer, Andrew Cullin by reason of the suit does not require collateral.

"If the individual fails to appear, the court may issue a warrant of arrest.

"Son of my clients has also submitted 15,000 bond to the Customs Department," he said.

Hakim, Ahmad Azhari Abdul Hamid set bail at RM15,000 with one surety and fixed May 25 as a reference.
