Security Guards rampage: bank officer, injured colleague

Suspects are in their 40s used a knife to stab the male officer in the neck and face before attacking a female officer.

Johor Bahru: A bank officer was killed and a colleague wounded stabbed a security guard who suddenly go berserk in a bank in Taman Molek, here today.

Seri Alam OCPD Supt Abdul Samad Salleh said the incident occurred around 3.30 pm when customers are waiting their turn to deal in the bank.

He said the suspects are in their 40s used a knife to stab the male officer in the neck and face before attacking a female officer.

"However, the woman was only wounded and sent to the Sultan Ismail Hospital for treatment," said Abdul Samad told reporters when met at the scene.

Suspects who are local residents were arrested at the scene following the quick action of the public to inform the incident to the police.

"The police consider this case as already successfully completed detain suspects and weapons used were also confiscated.

"The question of how long he (the suspect) serve (as a security guard) and what motives he does so, all is under investigation and the (recording) closed circuit television (CCTV) that exist in the bank will be taken to assist in the investigation," he said, adding that the case investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Meanwhile, according to a witness who only wanted to be known as Wong, 53, during the incident, he was waiting for his turn to deal with officials at the bank counter.

"When I came, he (the suspect) could give me the registration number and then he passed.

"After that, the hose 10 minutes I heard a noise in the back before the guard came towards us walked back and forth while holding a knife. All existing customers and continue to be surprised when it ran out to save themselves," he said.

Wong said he always dealt in the bank and had never seen the suspect before.
"Maybe he (the suspect) is still new here and he is also not supplied with any firearm compared with another security guard," he said.
