TM introduces two broadband packages


Executive Vice President (Consumer and SME) TM Imri Mokhtar said the new package will help encourage customers to use high-speed broadband services and increase their experience in TM network.

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) introduced two broadband packages to support the government's move towards encouraging broadband subscription and increase household penetration of 70 per cent at present.

He first was at RM38 per month, excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST), to 1Mbps with up to 1GB of data usage.

The offer is 57 percent cheaper than the current offer at RM88 for existing 1Mbps package, said in a statement on Thursday.

Another package is the package triumvirate UniFi new 10Mbps at RM179 a month, not including GST.

It includes Internet access unlimited broadband, free landline phone calls nationwide and 22 basic channels HyppTV which is 10 percent cheaper than existing UniFi 10Mbps package at RM199 per month.

Customers can subscribe to 1Mbps package starting June 16 while the 10Mbps package from July 15 at any branch nationwide TMpoint.

"This is in line with the efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia to expand access, especially for those who do not get the service, towards bridging the digital divide," he said.
