Wait permission to use Indian airspace

KUALA LUMPUR - Search and Rescue Team Special Malaysia (Smart) is currently waiting for permission to use Indian airspace to assist in search and rescue (SAR) victims of the earthquake that hit Norway on Saturday.
Secretary of the National Security Council (NSC), Datuk Mohamed Thajudeen Abdul Wahab said he is awaiting permission from the Indian authorities to use its airspace.
"Currently we can not go there (Nepal) and are still waiting for 'flight clearance from the Indian side. When the green light, then we will move there for the earthquake victims and rescue operation to bring home Malaysians addition to their homeland, "he told Bernama.
He said a total of 30 members of Smart and 20 medical doctors from Mercy Malaysia and the Malaysian Red Crescent Society will participate in the aid mission.
In addition, Malaysia also sent equipment and medical supplies by plane Charlie 130 Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF).
An earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale hit Nepal in the area between the capital city Kathmandu to Pokhara at 2:56 pm (Malaysian time).
So far the worst tragedy of the earthquake hit India within 81 years it has killed 2,150 people, including 22 climbers of Mount Everest.
